Bandhavgarh National Park – The Land Of Tigers

Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the popular national parks in India which is located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. This national park is located at 197 km away north-east of Jabalpur. Bandhavgarh is spread over an area of 820 square km (Including Core & Buffer Zone). It was declared national park in 1968.

Biodiversity –
Bandhavgarh is also known as the land of tigers. It has high density of tigers. This national park is home of more than 22 species of mammals and 70 species of butterflies & 250 species of birds. You can easily find animals like Tiger, Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Chausingha, Nilgai, Sloth Bear, Ratel, Bengal Fox , Leopard, Asiatic Jackal ,Striped Hyena etc.

Best time to visit –

Mid October to June. Park remains closed in Monsoon and on some festivals.

Climate –

In Bandhavgarh, you can experience winter from November to March. Temperature remains around 20 C during day time and around 5 C at night. April to June is the time of harsh summer when temperature reaches 45 C.

How to reach –

Jabalpur is nearest airport. Katni and Umaria are nearest railway station. Bus & Taxi services are available from various locations.
